When and where are your bridal shows held?

The Lansing Wedding Association hosts three premier bridal shows annually:

  • Spring Show (April) at Royal Scot Golf & Banquet Center
  • Fall Show (November) at Eagle Eye Golf & Banquet Center
  • Winter Show (January) at Eagle Eye Golf & Banquet Center

How much are tickets to your bridal shows?

Tickets are $12. We occasionally offer special promotions and early bird discounts through our social media channels.

What can I expect at a bridal show?

Our shows feature 60+ local wedding professionals, fashion shows featuring the latest bridal trends, live demonstrations, exclusive giveaways, swag bags for VIP ticket holders, and the opportunity to meet face-to-face with potential vendors for your special day.

Do I need to bring anything to the show?

We recommend bringing address labels to quickly sign up for vendor giveaways, a notebook or planning app to take notes, comfortable shoes, and a friend or family member. Some couples bring color swatches or inspiration photos to show vendors.

Can I bring guests with me?

Absolutely! Many couples bring their partner, parents, wedding party members, or friends to help make decisions. Each person will need their own ticket.

Are there any show specials or discounts available?

Yes! Many vendors offer exclusive show-only discounts, promotions, or added-value packages when you book at the show. These offers typically represent significant savings over their standard pricing.

Will there be food at the show?

Several catering vendors provide small samples of their menu items. However, we recommend eating a meal before attending as samples are meant to taste, not to replace a full meal. If you have food allergies, please discuss them with the vendor.

How far in advance should I book my wedding vendors?

We recommend booking your venue 12-18 months in advance, and major vendors (photographer, caterer, DJ) 9-12 months ahead. Other specialists like florists and bakers typically require 6-9 months' notice. During peak wedding season (May-October), booking even earlier is advisable.

What questions should I ask potential vendors?

Key questions include:

  • Are you available on my wedding date?
  • What is included in your pricing packages?
  • How much is the deposit and when is it due?
  • What is your cancellation policy?
  • How many weddings do you book on a single day?
  • Can I see examples of your previous work?
  • Do you have backup plans for emergencies?

Do all wedding vendors require contracts?

Reputable vendors should always provide a written contract. This protects both you and the vendor by clearly outlining services, prices, dates, and policies. Never work with a vendor who refuses to provide a written agreement.

What is a reasonable budget for a mid-Michigan wedding?

Wedding costs vary widely based on guest count, venue choice, and your priorities. In the mid-Michigan area, couples typically spend between $18,000-$30,000 for a wedding with 120-150 guests. Our vendor directory includes professionals at various price points to accommodate different budgets.

Should I tip my wedding vendors?

While not required, tipping is a nice gesture for vendors who provide exceptional service. Consider tipping 15-20% for service staff (catering, bartenders), $50-100 for main vendors (photographer, DJ), and personal gifts for business owners. Some vendor contracts already include gratuity, so check before providing additional tips.

What happens if a vendor cancels or goes out of business?

This is why contracts and vendor research are important. Reputable vendors will have contingency plans or recommend replacements if they cannot fulfill their obligations. LWA members adhere to professional standards, which includes proper handling of unexpected situations.

How do I know if a vendor is reputable?

Look for vendors who:

  • Are members of professional associations (like the LWA)
  • Have positive reviews on multiple platforms
  • Provide clear contracts and policies
  • Are responsive and professional in communications
  • Have been in business for several years
  • Can provide references from recent clients

Attending the Show

What are the show hours?

Our bridal shows run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Doors open for VIP ticket holders one hour prior to the show.

Is there parking available?

Are there fashion shows or special presentations?

Yes, we typically have fashion shows at events held at Eagle Eye to showcase wedding attire trends. We also have ongoing demonstrations and mini-presentations from various vendors throughout the day.

Will I win something at the show?

We have numerous door prizes and vendor giveaways at each show. Every attendee is entered into our grand prize drawing, and individual vendors offer their own prizes as well. Many attendees do win something, but it's not guaranteed.

What if I can't attend a show but want vendor information?

You can browse our online vendor directory anytime. However, the in-person experience and show-only specials are exclusive to attendees.
